Parents and Families
A special orientation program for parents and loved ones is planned for Sunday, September 3, at 2 p.m. All events take place in The O’Shaughnessy Auditorium. If you or other attendees require interpretation or translation services, please contact Sabrina Anderson at 651.690.6593
Parent Program, 2-3:15 p.m.
Join us for a lively discussion about some of the common transition issues that both families and students experience at the start of college. This program will make you laugh, reflect and become aware of the trials, joys and challenges that come with launching a student off to college. We will suggest strategies for providing your student with emotional support while promoting autonomy and independence.
Welcome Students and Families, 3:30–4:30 p.m.
What makes the Class of 2022 unique? We’ll tell you! And we’ll share St. Kate’s history and traditions too.
4:30–5 p.m. Sending Ritual
The Opening Ceremony concludes with the traditional lighting of our orientation candle, music, and a blessing and sending ritual as parents/family depart from campus. All faith traditions welcome.
